Dr. Ziderman mentions in his articles that sybthetic mbi can turn blue if it is cooked at 60 c. He also mentions that the murex can turn blue if the garment is cooked after it is already dyed. He never mentions if the MUREX would turn blue if it is cooked BEFORE it is dyed. A friend of mine tried it, and the result was a reddish purple (see attachment). Does anybody know if the murex can turn blue if the dye solution itself is cooked (NOT the tzitizis itself after it's dyed)?

Dr. Ziderman wrote 60-80C.
